Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Newby Bridge

L'al Churrasco

25 Market St, Ulverston LA12 7LR, UK – 01229 343160

Gorgeous, inventive menu that regularly changes due to its fabulous use of seasonal produce. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff! The new bar is a great addition. Highly recommend a visit!

This place is absolutely amazing. Harry the owner has introduced somewhere to the town which could be straight from the centre of Manchester or London. I regularly eat out and consider myself something of a foodie and I think this is amongst the best places I've ever eaten anywhere in the world. I cannot thank the guys who run it enough for taking a risk on the town (I live here) and giving us somewhere to eat and drink which lifts my mood everytime I visit. Thanks guys.

Jade Fountain

5 Fountain St, Ulverston LA12 7EQ, UK – 01229 585047

Great food, service and I think the place deserves to sell food at slightly higher than the other places in town because none of them really come close in terms of service and food. Drinks are a little pricey though

The man who works in the kitchen on Friday and Saturday is very charming. Great food and serivce

The Bay Horse Hotel & Restaurant

Canal Foot, Ulverston LA12 9EL, UK – 01229 583972

Excellent food and service in their restaurant for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast which was included with our room was good, though not remarkable, but their poached eggs were near perfect. Lunch time was very busy and the Irish Corn Beef was good, but almost too big for a "light" meal. Dinner is definitely their forte and all three evenings that we ate there was excellent and if there was anything to complain about, it was that the portions were too generous. Starting the second night we skipped the appetizers and desserts for just espresso and chocolate. The steak was one of the best we've had in a long time. We ate there three nights in a row because breakfast and dinner was included in our hotel package and it was well worth it.

We used to stop at this place over 40yrs ago for afternoon lunches...and that was after we had our fishing match on the nearby canal... Massive changes since then though..all for the better I may add...except the loos are still outside... Food is great...service is brilliant...and rooms are comfortable and relaxing... We look forward to coming back again soon.
